![]() ![]() To get Retroarch to work (not the steam version) I have to always make sure I have DS4Windows running (ryochan branch) as there’s no other way it detects Dual Sense in Retroarch otherwise. Sometimes I have to close and reopen Steam before I do that too. So I have to close DS4Windows down before I play Steam games with it so it works properly in Steam. No input mappers or tool, all you need is DS4 windows, so long as you select hide in the settings menu. Literally the only thing I have installed on my laptop for a controller is DS4Windows. The lights just all turn off on it and it won’t respond very well in games. I have been playing Dark Souls 2 on PC with a DualShock 4 with both DS4Windows and InputMapper and i didnt have any input lag issues. Like the OP described you can’t have the app open if you use Steam to play games with it. I have had to use Dual Sense on PC with all sorts of workarounds and fiddling with using DS4Windows and hiding it so it doesn’t show it as two controller profiles.īut this controller does not work well if you use a combination of using the non-Steam Retroarch software and play Steam games. It is the same with Dual Shock 4 controllers. It’s just bizarre why people have to even do workarounds still. I don’t understand why Sony hasn’t given their Dual Sense or any of their controller official support on pcs when they want to break into the pc gaming market with their recent releases on the platform? Now with the application added in HidHide to disable HID masking and DS4Windows special action (shortcut) to load a profile with virtual controller disabled, you should probably be able to switch to native PS5 controller detection with just a controller input. This is not profile specific, but global across all profiles (or that is how it behaves on my installation).Don't forget to also press the 'Set Unload Trigger' button (this is to unload the profile).Special Action (left panel), to load back your " original" " DualSense Native" profile with a controller input.Others (right panel) - Disable Virtual Controller.Create a profile (example " Dualsense Native").(Incase this is your first attempt at using HidHide, I had written down a tutorial for DS4 controller here - ) If you are using DS4Windows Hide Controller option, it may be a good idea to switch to HidHide and setup an exception for the ' application to look through the cloak'. DS4Windows - Settings - Hide Controller. When you are using Dualsense controller to emulate Xbox 360 controller, what methods you are using to hide the original controller device detected by Windows (because windows would have detected 2 controllers). I'm also perhaps incorrect with this line of thought, but I would think that it's always preferable to have the game/program read your controller natively then "tricking" it with DS4Windows. I really prefer not having to create a profile for every single thing I'm running. Including how to download, install, and setup your Controller Settings Profiles. So if anyone has some decent knowledge with DS4Windows, I would love their help to get this working properly. This isn't what I want, I want to be able to bounce between using the controller natively and using DS4Windows automatically. I keep running into problems where the "temporarily shut off DS4Windows" method will shut the controller off completely, lights and all, and I can't reconnect unless I turn DS4Windows back on. The short version is, I haven't found the easiest way to have DS4Windows turn on/use a specific profile when launching a specific program, and then temporarily turn off when I'm running a program that uses the PS5 controller natively. In Steam's case, there's this whole workaround you have to do in order to pull that off, and yet that same workaround doesn't seem to work with other programs. Ideally, I would want DS4Windows to automatically shut off when I'm running something that supports the PS5 controller natively, like Steam. At least for me, the biggest issue is getting the program to seamlessly switch on and off on its own, or load up the right profile in-between programs. it's the classic ds4 anyway. But as is the case with nearly every PC-related thing out there, DS4Windows is a pain in the ass to set up. I'm starting to think that is the controller itself, maybe the new-builded controllers or something. Even tried to set the pollrate to 1000hz of overclock to the controller but nothing has effect. I connected the device in the frontside of the computer, less than 20cm away from me, and i bought and tp-link 4.0 device. ![]() Here's the one I've used without issues for yearsĪs for wired I haven't used wired for years so have nothing to say in that regard. Only time I even see greater than 10ms is when connected the controller or turning a second controller on but it settles to <10ms after a second or so and is fine.Įither you have your BT USB dongle in a position that is affecting it's signal.back of computer or something else is causing interference.Ĭould just be a poor BT USB dongle.
